Right, so I've been mulling on this one for a little bit now, n I'm not opposed to writing something for you, I'm just not... entirely sure what to write? Because the thing is, myhouse.wad doesn't actually really have anything to do with Doom as a story. Sure, Doom is important in that it's the vessel through which the story is told and one of the connections between the narrator and his dead companion. But as far as Doom itself goes, and the story about a man who was too angry/stupid to die, fighting demons and saving earth, none of that is at all relevant to myhouse.wad and its story. For all intents and purposes, Doomguy isn't actually a character in myhouse.wad. So I'm not really sure how exactly to fit him in there.

All they read is fanfic and thus all the discourse centered around what is and isnt okay to write is always about fanfiction.

She’d never forgive you, Luke warns and Kai flinches at the unexpected sound of his voice, blinking to clear it from his thoughts. Something about being back here with the threat of family looming in the halls has Luke feeling ballsy, reminding him of their forced connection far too often for Kai’s liking. 

Laughter pulls his focus and he lifts his head to watch as Josie and Lucie rush past the open doorway, holding hands while they giggle. “No running!” he shouts after them, grinning when he hears Josie’s whispered: “Fuck off, Uncle Kai!” from down the hall. 

“Josie!” Lucie whispers with horrified admiration, and he sends a flicker of his magic after them to tug sharply at the end of Josie’s braid. She yelps and sends the spell right back at him, the book in front of him shuffling pages until he mutters the countercharm to make it stop. 

He can’t help the shiver of pride that rings through him, loving the way she’s starting to pick up on his tricks. Being her guardian isn’t so bad, even if he has no idea what he’s doing ninety percent of the time. He’d never given much thought to having kids of his own growing up, but it’s not…terrible, playing house with a piece of Jo’s life.
